Blue Brooklyn Bedroom

I recently discovered Hooked on Houses, which you should all be navigating to right this instant. It's a blog, like the name implies, about all things houses...and my particular favorite part is that she talks about homes from movies and television shows and posts pictures like these from Gilmore girls! Now back to the point...she recently posted these photos from the blog Brooklyn Limestone of this fabulous bedroom before and after. Take a look!

I really, really want my bedroom to look like this! It's such a fabulous combination of classic pieces, curvilinear lines and a modern color palette. I am doubly impressed with her treatment of the flatscreen, as it goes virtually unnoticed. Televisions sets are the scourge of a person with good taste who can't quite kick the habit of watching bad reality TV before bed, also known as me. Officially in love.

A+ School-Themed Wedding

Tomorrow is my friend Sarah's bridal shower, and I am getting so excited! I will post more on our crafty bridesmaid gift later on since I don't want to ruin the surprise! But since Sarah met her fiance Cody in second grade, I thought I would re-post a wedding that I saw years ago on Martha Stewart Weddings. This couple, Minhee and Truman, also met in grade school and decided to give their entire wedding a chic school theme. Check out more photos here!

With report card invitations, "apple for the teacher" place cards, plastic trays and bouquets of bright red and yellow flowers, and even a pop quiz about the couple, this school-themed wedding gets an A+ from me!

These Are Things

I have blogged about them before here, but These Are Things, based right here in Columbus, Ohio designs and prints the most fabulous maps ever. They are delightfully retro, and make perfect art pieces. Check out their website! My favorite is this map of all the different neighborhoods in C-bus, which I totally need to buy. You can pick up one of these limited edition pieces for $40.00 here!

Plate Walls

I am completely smitten with plate walls. They are the perfect combination of installation art piece and celebration of fabulous, colorful pottery. Two have been featured on Design*Sponge, one today and one in 2008, and I am already looking for interesting plates for a wall of my own. Lisa Congdon's was the wall that actually inspired Angela Hardison's plate wall. And now both of these ladies have inspired mine! As I'm moving to a new apartment this fall, I am looking for decoration inspiration everywhere.

A Peek at my Senior Thesis

So, I won't blogging much from here until the beginning of June because I am hard at work on my Senior Thesis project! I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of what I've been working on. For Kids is a nutrition education curriculum I am developing and my design project is to create the visual language and overall look and feel of the program as well as complete final layouts for a child's workbook and along-side Parent guide. Take a look at some of my images!

The Ohio Union: Flash Mob

I love working at the Ohio Union with these adorable dorks! This flash mob took place yesterday at 12:35 during the day featuring Ohio State students, employees, professional staff and even Brutus Buckeye and University President Gee. Check out the video!

They ended up having people dancing on both the ground floor and first floor of the building, all to the Glee version of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'."
