What will they think of next?

There are just too many creative people in this world. Look how amazing these bags are!

Things like this make me proud to say I am a graphic designer.

WELCOME WEEK 2009

Here are some images from the 2009 Welcome Week campaign. I designed the t-shirts, logos, books and posters for this week, and I have found some great photos online so those non-ohio state readers can check it out!

Piper-Heidsieck + Christian Louboutin

How much do I love the combination of the most glamourous champagne with the most stylish shoe designer? These are the Louboutin/Piper-Heidsieck gift packages I found on the Dieline. They were designed to commemorate the two starting a campaign together. I want a glass shoe, but only if I can drink champagne out of it...

I need Designer Opinions here

I know some of my design loving pals out there read The Dieline, so I am asking for an opinion on this...interesting package design for banana juice!

I can't decide if I love it, it's clever, or it simply freaks me out! Thoughts?

Miuccia Prada

While reading The Cut this morning for my daily dose of fashion news and snarky comments and I found an article on Miuccia Prada's collection, and how much she loves the Lady Gaga movement of only wearing underpants, or underoos, as I like to call them. And while that's all well and good, I found it more important to highlight the beauty of the shirts they are wearing, and the styling of the models. Who doesn't love a glittery top with a cherry red lip for a little evening drama? Very hot.

Serious Bling for Coach

I am feeling much better, and that is due in large part to how gorgeous these pieces of jewelry from Coach are! They are all works of art! Of course I can't afford them, but they are great to look at!

Hiatus

I haven't been feeling very Jenna Sais Quois lately.

I hope I will be back soon, and happier than ever.

Let There Be Light

I am not sure why this idea never occurred to me before this moment. But it is the Organizing Tip of the Day over at Martha Stewart. A flashlight on your fuse box... since basically any time you are dealing with the fuse box, there is a power outage.

Go Martha!

Moss Green Cabinets

I saw this image as a before and after on Design*Sponge this morning.
It made me think of these images from Nienie's kitchen.
I love the idea of painting cabinets instead of being stuck with ugly wood ones you hate...but I never thought of moss green before. It seems very cozy, yet modern. And surprisingly gender neutral as well.

Cook with the Animals!

The Birdcage

As a lover of vintage, I am obsessed with the idea of classic birdcage veils for brides. With flowers, feathers, gems...it can transform you instantly into a sophisticated lady from the 40's...the true time period of glamour.

Note: When Sarah was picking out her wedding gown (which is a Stunner, by the way) she tried one on and I absolutely flipped for it. Though it didn't quite work with that particular dress, it got me thinking...

And if you are interesting in learning how to make this birdcage veil (below), you can check out a how to at Once Wed which is a fabulous wedding website. I think it's kind of like the knot, but a little edgier...For the bride who's not afraid to take chances.

Hello, Goodbyn!

I am absolutely delighted to blog today about an adorable product that is great for kids, or even for ME! Goodbyn is a lunch container with a place for absolutely everything! I mean it, these people thought of everything! The curved section on the left is perfect for a banana, apples, oranges, leftovers...anything!

The middle section holds an 8.5 oz thermos eliminating the need for a disposable juice box!
The right section holds stacked sandwich halves, salads, pastas...you name it! And the additional areas are perfect for fresh fruits, nuts, or snack items.

Everything fits perfectly into this beautifully designed container. And on top of that, it is dishwasher safe, able to be personalized (it comes with a pack of stickers you can go to town with!) and even recyclable when you are finished with it!
I haven't been this excited about a lunch box since I got to pick out my own Barbie one in Kindergarten. And best of all, it encourages the placement of fresh, non-packaged ingredients into a child's lunch. No longer can we take the easy way out and throw in a bag of chips for convenience's sake!
If I had children, I'd buy one in every color! But instead, I might just have to get a pink one for myself! I love packing my lunch for work, and at the age of 23 I still feel thrilled to take my sandwich out of the neat wonderbread sandwich container. Imagine if everything was contained so neatly!?

Buy one here!

Halloween!

It's in the air...
My Autumnal table is set, and my candy dishes are out and filled with special Halloween M&Ms (one of the best parts of the season, obviously!)

Okay, okay, I realize that it is September 14th...and Halloween is a month and a half away...But I like to do things early! After Christmas, Halloween is my second-favorite holiday. So be prepared to see a few spooky Halloween ideas on this blog in the coming weeks!

Also, on an completely unrelated note! I have been a "nail-biter" all my life, and I have been desperately trying to get them to grow for years now. Incidentally, I have been doing quite well for the past 2 months, and my fingers look perfectly manicured (at home, of course...for free!)

But the man at the parking garage near my office who takes my daily ticket complimented me on them today after work!

So enjoy these lovely Witches Fingers/cookies in honor of my kicking that nasty habit!

Baby Envy

There are just so many adorable children in this world. This week I have what I am calling baby envy. The definition of baby envy is of course the jealousy directed at mothers out there who get to enjoy playing with these delightful little peanuts every single day.

But in honor of this week, I want to post some images from a photographer that Cate directed me to. Her name is Eden Lang, and she also has a blog! These images are of her adorable little daughter.

How much do I love these boots??

(Note: baby envy does not reach as far as to motivate me to want to take care of cranky, sick, or crying babies. That is reserved for a time in the distant future when I accept the bad along with the good, and am married, and am actually ready to have my own)

Why Didn't I Think of This?

I saw this home today on Design*Sponge designed by Honey Interiors.
I often imagined what my house someday would look like, and I can promise the front door was never yellow in my mind. But this picture has got me thinking...

This home looks like something out of a storybook...but one written in 2009. Classic, yet still relevant.

Michelle Obama

I always knew our First Lady, Michelle Obama never left the White House without looking chic, but thanks to New York Magazine's Fashion Blog, The Cut, we are able to take a look at all of her fabulous fashion moments throughout the last few months in the Michelle Obama Look Book.

I have taken the liberty to display some of my favorite Michelle Fashion Moments here:

This woman can seriously do no wrong! She works the classic lines like Jackie O, the maternal retro silhouettes like Donna Reed, and the Couture gowns like any red-carpet starlet out there...only better! Love her look!

Inspiration Week at Inspired Bride!

Inspired Bride was having a bit of technical difficulty last week, and so now that they are up and running again they have decided to reward us all with something called Inspiration Week!

This basically means that they are producing more of their gorgeous inspiration boards and color cards all week! And here are some of the goodies so far:

Be sure to check out the rest of the deliciousness throughout the rest of Inspiration Week over at Inspired Bride!
