My best friend Cate is obsessed with these dishes from World Market. I think they're great, and since she eyes them like a kid eyes a puppy in a pet shop window, I am clearly trying to motivate her to buy them. But the problem is...I am the friend nobody wants to bring shopping with them because (as you may have noticed with this here blog) I have a great way of emphatically convincing people to buy things. What do you guys think? Should she get them?

Beat the Blues
There's something about February that just drags you down. It's still such a long time until Spring, but the holidays are long gone, and some of those New Years Resolutions probably are as well...so I am countering the winter blues by bringing you some of my favorite, dreamy blues. May they bring you to a happier place as well!

Green Ribbon Tablescape
Here is an adorable tablescape idea for an event or wedding using woven ribbons and a crisp, clean color palette to kick your party or event up to the next level. It was featured on Martha Stewart Weddings with the green color palette ideas, and I think this would be a super easy and affordable way to make an impact.

Yikes! Stripes!
These striped, paper straws are at every chic/hip party on every blog ever. Basically. Now, sharing a bottle of white wine with a pretty label on it is still the height of sophistication while entertaining at my apartment, but I can't wait for a day when my parties look like these. At 4 dollars a pack, these straws will, in fact, be present.

Fisherman Father's Day
I love this intimate setting for a Father's Day Dinner from Kara's Party Ideas. The place settings are fabulous, and the attention to detail is inspiring. It sets the perfect rustic tone. There's something about the lush fabrics, outdoor setting, and champagne that feels like this would be a good Father's Day Dinner for you to send the kid's to a babysitter. Enjoy!

The Birds and the Bees
I am simply charmed by this dinnerware from Lenox. It is called the Chirp Collection, and the hand-painted look is really beautiful. It would be perfect to set your table with for Spring, and the 4-piece place setting is on sale right now for only $99.00. Check it out online here at Macy's!

Halloween How-To
There are so many amazing Halloween ideas floating out there in the Blogosphere, and one of the best I've seen today comes from Bunnycakes. She decorated her October table last year with a spiderweb tablecloth that would be quite easy to make yourself!

Here are my directions for how to imitate her spooky spiderweb Tablecloth!
- Buy an inexpensive black tablecloth, and a white fabric marker
- Start at a central point and make straight lines flaring out all the way to the edges
- Finish with the web lines, arcs that curve outward and intersect with the straight lines
- If you are extra ambitious, you could use a sewing machine to stitch overtop of these markings, making your tablecloth last for years to come!
- Voila! Top your table with some pumpkins, drippy candles, and dim the lights for a Halloween Feast (in costume!) and family memories that will last for years to come.

Lemon Fresh Table-Setting
I am in love with this place setting for a summer party. It's so simple, just a yellow bandana napkin and sunflowers. But the best part is the lemon place card. It makes me want to have an August cookout!
