Yep! An obvious choice considering my weekending plans! This drink is a classic from way back when... the 1870s to be exact, at the Manhattan Club in New York, New York. So, enjoy this classic, and while you're mixing your Manhattan, think of me having the most exciting but quite possibly least relaxing vacation ever. I think I enjoy the hustle bustle more than the calm anyway! Happy Memorial Day!

Broadway Baby
I am headed to New York City this weekend, and if I had my way, I'd spend the entire day catching up on my Broadway musicals! I have loved them since I was a little kid and my parents would play cast recordings on long car trips. We knew all the words to Cats and The Phantom of the Opera back then... I wish I could see everything, but I don't exactly have that much disposable income so each of the girls going on the trip had to submit their top 5 choices, and then we narrowed it down to one (well, two...more on that later) winner! Here were my top picks:
The Book of Mormon
Written by the minds behind South Park, I've heard this musical is pretty controversial, mostly for the use of bad language. But I've listened to the music, and it seems sweetly heartfelt and surprisingly uplifting. And sold out until forever...
Anything Goes
I am a fan of Sutton Foster (we caught her understudy 2 years ago in this so I still haven't seen her in a show!), and we were all in this musical in high school, so naturally it was on the consideration list!
Catch Me If You Can
I am a huge fan of the movie, and of this era in general...this was the top of my original list, but I don't think the other girls on the trip have seen the movie, or are as obsessed with the 1960s as I am...
The Addams Family
Yes, I realized I skipped Number 4, but only because that was officially declared the winning show (all three of us had put it on our lists!) Anyway, this just seemed like a fun, kooky show that I could just lose myself in for 2 hours.
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
This was declared the unanimous vote, and I am excited about it. I've never seen the show or heard the music, but it seems like a quintessentially "Broadway" show, and that is definitely a good pick if you can only see one show while you're on the Great White Way for a day! Plus, the guy on the right is Daniel Radcliffe...and Anderson Cooper is also in the show, so it has a celeb draw.
And Finally....the second show we're seeing in New York City...
One of my dearest friends growing up (practically since birth) is living in New York and working as an actor in an off-broadway play. He will probably kill me for posting this, but I am so proud of him...so proud that I've drawn a circle around his cute little mug. Mr. Albers, I know you're reading this...I can't wait to see you light up the stage on Sunday!! Love you!

Start Spreadin' the News
See you later, Columbus! I am heading out of town for a (much needed, and very well-deserved) vacation to the big apple for Memorial Day weekend! So in honor of celebrating my trip and getting me pumped up for that 6+ hour car ride with two of my girlfriends from high school, Rachel and Sarah, I am having a New York City themed week here at Jenna Sais Quois. I want to begin by sharing a fabulous map of Manhattan, created by none other than my favorite cartographers These Are Things based here in C-bus. And while you're clicking, check out their shop! You are guaranteed to find something amazing!

Cocktail Hour: Moscow Mule
The wonderful Leslie from Fresh Out of Lemons suggested today's cocktail, the Moscow Mule, which happens to be Oprah's fave as of late, in honor of her last week of shows! My recipe is a little different from Oprah's, but the result is quite similar! I seriously admire Ms. Winfrey as a tastemaker, humanitarian, and of course, extraordinary host. People have told me I should have my own show someday throughout my entire life. Until then...I always have you lovely blog readers to listen to my ramblings! Anyway, read more about this cocktail, including why it's served in a copper mug here. And enjoy your weekend. Next week has a distinct theme that I'm pretty excited about, in honor of a little vacation I'm taking Memorial Day Weekend...spoiler alert. Cheers!

JSQ Lookbook: Au Naturale
Today's Lookbook post was inspired by these amazing Anthropologie sandals. They seriously had me at "hello" and I wanted to base a look around them using naturals, tans, straw, and other summery elements. Also, I am going to be blogging up a storm today to make up for my shoddy posting record this week! I have been super busy working on the summer edition of Edible Columbus magazine, which will be going to print next week. Anyway, enjoy this look and I will have a fabulous Gift Guide post from Eva coming in a few!

Hipster Babies in May
You guys know I am obsessed with the Zara's kids lookbook each month. I get so excited when I see new looks. Not only are the kids adorable (how cute is this little girl with her watch?) but the models are styled impeccably like the trendiest of trendy adults. I've blogged about Zara here and here, now check out some of the looks from this month!

JSQ Lookbook: Pretty Pastels
What better to counter a terribly cold, and rainy day than with some fresh, light pastels! This Anthropologie shift is so light and crisp, and I am in love with the color palette. The white dress with the pastel stripes works beautifully with bone accessories, plus I've been dying to include that necklace from Kate Spade in a post. So enjoy!

Cocktail Hour: Frozen Bellini
This cocktail is a favorite of mine! I actually got to see the bar where it was created all the way in Venice, Italy. Furthermore, it is a favorite at Brucoli family holidays, because it keeps the spirits high, and us expressive (err...loud), Italian women relatively quiet for a while! It is absolutely delicious, and I love any excuse to use my sadly discontinued Martha Stewart KitchenAid Blender! Hope you are all keeping cool on this warm, sunny Friday! Chill out with a fresh Bellini, but as always, drink responsibly. Cheers!

Feature Film: How to Marry a Millionaire
This 1953 comedy starring Femme Fatale powerhouses Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable, and Lauren Bacall is a little outdated, but it will never be short of mesmerizing. To see three of the most beautiful actresses in the history of cinema out there scrambling for a man is, well, hilarious. But hey, I like how they aimed high and went for the gold by renting an upper-crust apartment for 1000 bucks a month (in 1953...) and then systematically selling all the furniture so they could pay the rent! It also yields classically antiquated lines such as, "If you don't marry him, you haven't caught him, he's caught you..." It's worth watching the film just to see Marilyn rock a pair of cat-eye glasses that make this four-eyed blogger green with envy. Though I try not to believe her when she spouts off her classic catchphrase, "Men aren't attentive to girls who wear glasses." In short, I adore this movie. Have you seen it?

Fragrance Fanatic
Do you have a signature scent that you wear every day? Or are you like me and enjoy changing it up depending on time of day, occasion, or just with your mood? I have a collection of seven different fragrances, and I probably couldn't pare it down to save my life. In fact, it actually keeps growing... Sometimes I move on to something new and exciting, but can't bare the thought of letting the old one go...I mean, why throw out perfectly good perfume? Here are my 7 scents! What are some of your favorites?
1 Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs is my newest addition. It's a perfect spring fragrancy but let's be honest...I would've bought it just for the packaging!
2 With Love by Hilary Duff is one of my favorite scents. Celeb perfume isn't usually so wonderful, but this is so creamy it almost reminds me of chai tea. Perfect for winter.
3 Burberry Brit Eau de Toilette is my current everyday scent. It's lighter than the perfume version and not at all overpowering, which makes it great for work.
4 Euphoria by Calvin Klein is a mostly retired scent that I was obsessed with in the midst of my college days. It's very strong, and definitely the sexiest of the bunch. I spritzed this on my wrists before going out every weekend and it brings back happy memories.
5 Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker is still my go-to scent for the autumn and I've been wearing it for six years now. Though the bottle looks totally femme, it's actually a really woodsy scent that's perfect for the crisp fall weather.
6 Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana is another mostly retired scent, because everyone wears it! But it still smells so incredibly fruity and delicious that I still bring it out for special warm-weather occasions.
7 Burberry Brit Eau de Parfum is totally spicy and fun, and I mostly wear it in the wintertime when I'm going out. It's a little too much for the workday, but just right for a dinner or drinks.

Cocktail Hour: Mint Julep
Today's cocktail is one I've been talking about all week; the Mint Julep of course! Typically associated with the Southern states, they are also the official cocktail of the Kentucky Derby. They are more typically served in a tall collins glass, however historically they were sipped from silver or pewter cups like the one shown here in order to get that delightfully frosty chill on the outside. Now go off and enjoy the races, or just your weekends, and sip responsibly! Cheers!

JSQ Lookbook: Derby Day 2
So, I'm shedding the bathrobe and fuzzy slippers from yesterdays Sick Day, and bringing you back to Churchill Downs with my second Derby Day look. This is a sweet but sadly out-of-stock Anthropologie dress styled in a polished, upper-crust way. By pairing the look with some feminine flats and a straw cloche, the look is slightly more casual. But then by adding the classic double-strand of pearls, it bumps this look back up to Country Club chic. Again, don't forget your Mint Julep!
1 Kingston Road Dress from Anthropologie

Sick Day
I am interrupting your regularly scheduled programming to let you all know that I am unfortunately in the midst of a sick day. It's Spring, and with the changing seasons, I always run into some allergy problems, but this is just bananas! I am a sneeze monster, rounding my way into my second box of tissues and it's only 10:30 in the morning. So...I will try to assemble another post for you today, but for now, I wanted to give you a peek at some items and products that get me through any sick day ready to take on tomorrow. Enjoy your health!
1 White Chenille Bathrobe: Everyone should own one of these. It's like being swaddled in a cloud. Perfect for a sick day, or just your run-of-the-mill shower.
2 Aromatherapy Bath Salts in Eucalyptus Spearmint from Bath & Body Works: These are amazing, they smell wonderful, and they relieve stress, which is just an added bonus!
3 Blue Oil from Aveda: This teeny little roll-on product is magical. Put it on your temples and the back of your neck, and then in a minute or two, it feels cool, relaxing, and divine.
4 Puffs plus lotion with Vicks: I realize these aren't for everyone, but I personally love the smell of Vicks, and when you're congested, nothing works better for me!
5 Bowl of Cereal: I like Special K with a banana and 8th Continent light vanilla soymilk.
6 Moccasin Slippers from L.L.Bean: The most comfortable slippers ever made...worth every penny of their $49.95 price tag.
