Yankee Doodle Dandy

I hope everyone is gearing up for a fabulous Independence Day Weekend! I found some festive photos via Martha Stewart Living to put you in the mood for burgers, barbecues, and ice cold beers. And of course fireworks. Enjoy the weekend, and stop back on Monday!

Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

This is probably one of the cutest ways I have come across to ask your friends if they will share your Big Day with you. I found it on Once Wed, and it is going into my idea file for my own wedding someday...You can get the full How-To here!

By the way, if any of my close girlfriends are reading this, forget you saw it in 3-10 years when it's actually time for me to settle down!

Studio On Fire

I glean inspiration regularly from a letterpress blog I love called Beast Pieces, from Studio On Fire based out of Minneapolis. They always post the most fantastic designs, their best projects on the blog and they are unbelievable. You really have to see for yourself, here. I loved this stationary system for a Bahamian destination wedding that they created. It is one of the more cohesive statement invitation sets I've seen in a while.

On a completely unrelated note, I can not stop listening to "Alejandro" by Lady Gaga. I have probably had it on repeat for about 2 hours now.

Cactus Chic

Today Once Wed featured a cactus-inspired vintage wedding that I immediately fell in love with. The bride's dress had a simple silhouette, but with the addition of a golden patterned overlay and trim plus a pair of simple Steve Madden sandals and it's a divine kind of Southwestern Chic. I love the idea of using cactus plants or succulents as centerpieces and it seems to be increasing in trendiness lately. Take a look at Once Wed for the full-set of photos!

Elizabeth Demos Event Styling

Who saw these gorgeous photos this morning on Once Wed? The event stylist featured here, Elizabeth Demos, is a genius. Every photo in the series is perfection, but these are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Not related to the event featured on Once Wed above, here are some other fabulous photos from Elizabeth's website that I thought were noteworthy. This aviation-inspired wedding is to die for.

Fisherman Father's Day

I love this intimate setting for a Father's Day Dinner from Kara's Party Ideas. The place settings are fabulous, and the attention to detail is inspiring. It sets the perfect rustic tone. There's something about the lush fabrics, outdoor setting, and champagne that feels like this would be a good Father's Day Dinner for you to send the kid's to a babysitter. Enjoy!

A Super Father's Day Idea

Jordan Ferney, my vote for most creative woman on the internet (heavy statement, I know) does it again with this post on Alphamom. A Superhero themed Father's Day Kit. How cute is that? Equipped with Hero Juice, Energy Chips, and a Secret Identity Bar plus lots more, this homemade gift would be perfect for that Super Dad of yours. The best part? Prinatbles are free! Just run them through your printer on adhesive label paper, and you are on your way.

Edible Columbus

Have you picked up the newest issue of Edible Columbus yet? You can get them at North Market, Jeni's and a ton of other local Columbus spots. It is full of delicious recipes, great stories, and of course information about local food. Aren't those raspberries on the cover just gorgeous?

The Graduate

Okay, I know this blog has not been getting the attention it needs lately, but that's because I've been busy graduating! That's me in the glasses. If I wasn't holding Dasani, I would say this picture looks like it's from 1972.
Can you believe how many people there are in this photo? Over 8,000 graduated on Sunday from The Ohio State University. I am officially back in business, so stop back at Jenna Sais Quois for new content soon!

Custom Calligraphy Stamp

In the world of e-mailing and texting, a handwritten letter definitely seems delightfully out of place and appreciated. Bloggers have been featuring Primele's etsy shop lately because of her fantastic return address stamps featuring custom calligraphy. Priced at only 40 dollars, this would amazing to have for yourself. It would also be a fantastic wedding or anniversary gift for a couple that is much too cool for return address labels. Enjoy!

Blue Brooklyn Bedroom

I recently discovered Hooked on Houses, which you should all be navigating to right this instant. It's a blog, like the name implies, about all things houses...and my particular favorite part is that she talks about homes from movies and television shows and posts pictures like these from Gilmore girls!Now back to the point...she recently posted these photos from the blog Brooklyn Limestone of this fabulous bedroom before and after. Take a look!

{Photos from Hooked on Houses, via Brooklyn Limestone}

I really, really want my bedroom to look like this! It's such a fabulous combination of classic pieces, curvilinear lines and a modern color palette. I am doubly impressed with her treatment of the flatscreen, as it goes virtually unnoticed. Televisions sets are the scourge of a person with good taste who can't quite kick the habit of watching bad reality TV before bed, also known as me. Officially in love.

A+ School-Themed Wedding

Tomorrow is my friend Sarah's bridal shower, and I am getting so excited! I will post more on our crafty bridesmaid gift later on since I don't want to ruin the surprise! But since Sarah met her fiance Cody in second grade, I thought I would re-post a wedding that I saw years ago on Martha Stewart Weddings. This couple, Minhee and Truman, also met in grade school and decided to give their entire wedding a chic school theme. Check out more photos here!
{All photos from marthastewartweddings.com}

With report card invitations, "apple for the teacher" place cards, plastic trays and bouquets of bright red and yellow flowers, and even a pop quiz about the couple, this school-themed wedding gets an A+ from me!

These Are Things

I have blogged about them before here, but These Are Things, based right here in Columbus, Ohio designs and prints the most fabulous maps ever. They are delightfully retro, and make perfect art pieces. Check out their website! My favorite is this map of all the different neighborhoods in C-bus, which I totally need to buy. You can pick up one of these limited edition pieces for $40.00 here!

Plate Walls

I am completely smitten with plate walls. They are the perfect combination of installation art piece and celebration of fabulous, colorful pottery. Two have been featured on Design*Sponge, one today and one in 2008, and I am already looking for interesting plates for a wall of my own. Lisa Congdon's was the wall that actually inspired Angela Hardison's plate wall. And now both of these ladies have inspired mine! As I'm moving to a new apartment this fall, I am looking for decoration inspiration everywhere.
